Travel from Wenzhou to Xiamen

Q: Does anyone knows what is the best way to go from Wenzhou to Xiamen? I have been looking on the web for a moment now and i can not find! Thank you so much!

Train services between Wenzhou and Xiamen have been recently launched, so now you can travel by train from Wenzhou to Xiamen. There are four daily departures from Wenzhou to Xiamen. The earliest train is 11:20 and the latest is around 15:30. Train travel time is approximately three hours. Train fare is about 200 Chinese dollars. Trains depart from Wenzhou South Railway Station. Three of the trains arrive at Xiamen Railway Station and one arrives at Xiamen North Station. Three of the trains originate from Shanghai South and one originates from Hangzhou, so they're passing-through trains.

You can also travel by bus from Wenzhou to Xiamen. By highway the distance from Wenzhou to Xiamen is about 580 km. A bus ride takes about 6-8 hours. Bus fare is about 150 yuan. You should be able to find Xiamen-bound coaches at Wenzhou New Bus Station South (Wenzhou Qiche Zhan Nan Zhan), located on Wenzhou Avenue (Wenzhou Dadao), close to where Wenzhou Avenue intersects Napu Road Napu Lu. Thirdly, you can fly from Wenzhou to Xiamen. There are two flights between the two cities, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. The plane departs from Wenzhou Yongqiang Airport and arrives at Xiamen Gaoqi Airport. Fare is about 600-700 Chinese dollars. Flights are operated by China Southern Airlines. Flight time is one hour. You need to, of course, go from the cities to the airports. It is a trip of 30-45 minutes from central Xiamen to Gaoqi Airport. It takes roughly same amount of time to get from central Wenzhou to Yongqiang Airport; taxi ride costs about 50 yuan.

All considered, train seems to be the best way to travel from Wenzhou to Xiamen. However, you may find train tickets hard to come by if you do not have some local to purchase in advance for you. For buses, you can mostly show up and go. No guarantee that will alway be the case though.
