Flights from Hong Kong to Meixian Airport are on Tuesdays and Saturdays. You arrive in Hong Kong on a Thursday and need to get to Meixian before 3 pm on October 17, a Friday.

For bus service from Kowloon to Meizhou, of which Meixian is a part, take a look at the information here. The bus leaves in the morning. Travel time from Kowloon to Meizhou is about six hours.

If you cross border from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, you'll find more buses that go to Meixian. Shenzhen is about 40 minutes north of Kowloon or an hour or so from Hong Kong airport.

If you're going to go from Shenzhen to Meixian, you can also travel by train. One train departs from Shenzhen at about 15:00 and arrive at 20:30 (you cannot catch this train on the same day given your arrival time at Hong Kong Airport). The other train departs at about 21:30 and arrives in Meizhou at 3:00 in the morning. You can catch this train if you want to, but the arriving time in Meizhou is not very convenient. Both trains are air-conditioned and you can by ticket for a soft sleeping berth for about ¥180. If you want to go by train, make sure you know you'll be able to get the tickets.

There are coaches that go directly from Hong Kong International Airport to Shenzhen.

Some of these buses departing from HK Airport also go to other cities in Guangdong Province, but Meixian (Meizhou) does not seem to be one of their destinations. Check with the airport for information on these coaches.

There are daily flights from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport to Meixian, one plane departing at 10:25 and the other at 13:45 (not too sure about the latter flight; it may not plane does not fly on Tuesday or Saturday or at all). Give the departure times, you cannot fly on the same day as you arrive in Hong Kong at 2 pm. Plus, first you need to travel first from Hong Kong Airport to Guangzhou Baiyun airport, which is about two hours away. However, if you catch the earlier flight from Guangzhou to Meixian the next day, you will be able to make it to Meixian before 3 pm. Flight time from Guangzhou to Meixian is about 50 minutes. China Southern Airlines operate the flights. You should book your tickets in advance to make sure you will be able to travel as you have planned. You may get your ticket for about ¥500 (one way).
