| Jiuzhaigou is a scenic area located in northwestern Sichuan, famous for its pristine streams, colorful lakes and green hills. "Jiuzhaigou" means Nine Village Valley, as along the valley - a total of 50 km in length - there are nine Tibetan hamlets. Jiuzhaigou TransportationAirport: Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Airport (also known as Jiu Huang Airport) is 88 km from Jiuzhaigou and and 43 km from Huanglong. There are shuttle services to and from Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. To Jiuzhaigou it is a bus ride of 1.5-2 hours; to Huanglong, 1 hour or so. Bus Services: There are long distance bus services from several cities to Jiuzhaigou. The distance from Chengdu, the largest city nearby, to Jiuzhaigou is 400 km, making it a bus ride of 10 to 12 hours. The region is sparely populated; it is the best one travels with a guided tourist group. There are shuttle buses within the Jiuzhaigou scenic zone to transport visitors around. | ||
